Etsy has a taste test for new (and returning) users. Go ahead, try it yourself! You look at some items they show you, and choose 10 items that "most suit your taste", and then based on those choices they show you more items (from among almost 9 million) that you might like.
Fun, yes? Helpful feature! But...
It took me AGES of reviewing pictures to amass 10 items that matched my taste. Because my taste no longer encompasses anything that has to be dusted. I ended up choosing almost all jewelry, one item to write on, and one item of homemade food.
There's great one-of-a-kind merch on etsy but now I see it only as "thank you presents" for people I have stayed with. (And actually what I prefer to do is give them something - something wonderful, of course - that I already own.) I also regard ebay and craigslist now primarily as venues to lighten my load. (Now that I've used ebay to find the book I've been looking for since 1972! The problem turned out to be: I only had its editor's name, not its author's.) It's light. Fits in my purse.
